Micro Needling

Micro Needling

The unique Environ Medical Roll-CIT represents a revolutionary approach to anti-ageing through natural processes. The needle penetrates through the epidermis to a maximum of 1mm causing a small amount of bleeding but virtually no bruising and a little swelling. This procedure can be used to treat lax skin and wrinkles on the face, upper lip lines, neck, décolleté, arms, abdomen, buttocks and legs. It is also useful for treating acne scarring.

PCI (percutaneous collagen induction) results from the natural response to wounding the skin, causing microscopic breaks in the blood vessels immediately below the surface of the skin(epidermis). Platelets are released that contribute to the forming of blood clots. In turn, these platelets release a series of growth factors which promote the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Each little pin prick/wound goes through the three classic phases of wound healing:- inflammation, proliferation(tissue formation) and tissue remodeling. Collagen type III is gradually replaced by collagen type I over the following months. This gives increased tensile strength ie improved elasticity and thickness to the dermis.

It is essential to prepare the skin thoroughly prior to PCI Micro-needling. On average at least 14 days, in order to improve the resistance of the skin, promote healing and augment the production of collagen, elastin and other growth factors. Vitamins A and C found in the Environ Ionzyme C-Quence range is especially recommended. Longer preparation is associated with faster healing and better results.

For best results, a series of six PCI Micro-needling sessions should be done at intervals ranging between one week to one month, depending on the time and budget available.

A quality suncare product with UVA and UVB protection such as Environ’s RAD should be worn.

To further maximize collagen and elastin production in the skin, iontophoresis and sonophoresis treatments using the Environ DF machine are recommended.
